At Bob’s rehab, we provide a range of massage techniques to meet the unique needs of every client. The types of massage services are: Chinese Tuina massage, Swedish deep tissue massage, and Chinese foot massage.

Chinese Tuina Massage

Tuina or Tui-Na massage, pronounced as "twee-nah," has its origins in ancient China. It stands as one of the four primary branches of traditional Chinese medicine, alongside Acupuncture, Qi Gong, and Chinese Herbal Medicine. This practice is grounded in the belief that disruptions in qi, the body's vital life force or energy, can result in blockages or imbalances, manifesting as symptoms like pain and illness. Tuina massage aims to restore balance and harmony within the body by stimulating the flow of qi, employing many of the same principles as acupuncture, such as targeting specific acupoints. At Bob’s rehab, often times the practitioner incorporates Tuina into acupuncture sessions for a holistic approach to treatment.

Swedish Deep Tissue Massage

Swedish deep tissue massage aims to provide a therapeutic and relaxing experience. This is a type of massage therapy that focuses on reaching the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissues in the body. Therapists use light to firm pressure, slow and long strokes to ease areas of tension and discomfort. The manipulation of soft tissues in the body promotes relaxation, reduces muscle tension, and helps to improve overall well-being.

Chinese Foot Massage

This massage technique is a traditional therapeutic practice rooted in Chinese medicine principles. During the session, the therapist uses their hands, fingers, thumbs, or specialized tools to apply firm pressure to specific points on the feet that correspond to different organs and systems in the body. The goal is to stimulate energy flow (Qi) along meridian pathways and restore balance to the body's systems.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy, a practice rooted in traditional Chinese medicine, employs negative pressure cups on the skin to lift and stretch soft tissues like skin, fascia, and muscles. This process promotes relaxation of underlying tissues, enhancing blood flow and metabolism in the subcutaneous layers. It aims to alleviate pain and address a range of conditions. It also it aids in regulating bodily functions and promoting overall enhancement in various health aspects.
